Every year, we try to something a little different to decorate the home. This year the kids really got into these decorations and couldn't stop making them! They are inspired from toilet paper tubes recycled art... of course for our projects we only used recycled materials also!
Flower Stars/Wreath: Make a tube out of tag board, or cardstock, staple together along the overlapped edge. Staple 1 inch apart down the whole tube. Flatten with staples to one side, use scissors to cut out strips. Each strip segment will have one staple and look like a "petal" to a flower. Take several of these and staple together. Glue "star" in middle.
Ramadan Banner: Recycled Manila folders (colored ones) cut out into circle shapes, with star pattern cut outs containing each letter. In between is a die cut, but you can easily replicate this by using a star pattern, and hole punching using various shapes and circle sizes.
Moon and Star Mobile: Same flower pattern, with strings attached showing different phases of the moon.
Wall Mural: I used my light tracer to blow up a calligraphy of "Ramadan Kareem" to the size i wanted. Traced onto a thicker rice paper, each piece cut out, and then glued on with a removable adhesive (i.e. starch, or removable spray adehesive)
